Reenie Branning was a character who appeared in two episodes of EastEnders in 1996, played by Joy Graham. She was the wife of Jim Branning and mother to Derek, April, Carol, Suzy, Max and Jack.
Biography
The first wife of Jim, Doreen, usually called Reenie, was seen in the episodes leading up to the wedding of April and Nikos, which later became that of Carol and Alan. Although Reenie didn't share husband Jim's prejudices, she usually didn't do much to combat them either. She died, off-screen, circa 1999.
She was discussed in 2007, quite heatedly, when Jim was unwillingly reunited with his estranged son Max.
