Kathy Sullivan was one of the 24 original characters of EastEnders, appearing from 1985 to 2000. She was played by Gillian Taylforth.

Biography

Married first to Pete Beale, then later to Phil Mitchell, Kathy was a lynch pin of Walford society. Kathy owned the cafe in Bridge Street, having purchased out the other part-owners (Pauline Fowler and Frank Butcher). Kathy was raped twice, once when she was 14 by Marcus Duffy, which resulted in the birth of Donna Ludlow (deceased), the second time by James Willmott-Brown after hours in the Dagmar public house. Kathy was pursued by a number of men including Richard Cole, Alex Healy and Grant Mitchell, but she left Walford to get away from all of them and to live with her brother Ted in Cape Town.

She remarried, this time to Gavin, who adopted her son Ben - much to the chagrin of his biological father, Phil Mitchell. Kathy was killed off-screen in a road accident in late February 2006.
