Amy Mitchell is a current character in EastEnders, and has appeared since her birth in 2008. Originally the part was played by twin babies Kamil and Natalie Lipka-Kozanka, but the role was later taken over by Amelie Conway.
Biography
Roxy Slater's baby, born two months premature in November 2008. Amy is named after Ronnie Mitchell's daughter who was thought at the time to have died. When Amy was born, her father was unknown, but it was either Sean Slater or Jack Branning. Roxy got a DNA test, which showed that Jack was the biological father.
Amy's aunt Suzy and grandfather Archie conspired to tell Sean of Amy's true parentage, and Suzy put the DNA test results in Sean's Christmas cracker. This lead to Sean kidnapping Amy, and eventually planning to drive himself, Amy and Roxy into a frozen lake. Roxy distracted Sean and took him onto the lake, leaving Amy safe in the car, and they both fell through the ice, fortunately both surviving.
She was first heard speaking on 24 March 2011.
Amy was born two months early and was supported by a ventilator in a special care baby unit for the first few weeks of her life, with Roxy and Sean by her bedside.
When Amy was finally alllowed home, Roxy was worried about her paternity, and with pressure from Jack, took a DNA test, which revealed that Jack was Amy's biological father.
When Sean discovered that Amy was Jack's, he kidnapped her and lived with her in a squat for a few days, before giving her to Stacey, who took her back to The Vic. He then returned and breifly reconciled with Roxy. The couple planned to run away with Amy, but Sean decided that they should die together, by driving into an icy lake. Roxy distracted Sean and got him away from Amy, until Jack and Ronnie arrived to help.
